Broadway has a new princess! Earlier this afternoon, it was announced that actress & singer Keke Palmer will star as the 1st African American Cinderella on Broadway.

Palmer made her film debut at age 10 in Barbershop 2, and went on to starring roles in films like Akeelah and the Bee, Joyful Noise, and Madea’s Family Reunion.

This achievement marks the 2nd milestone for Palmer in 2014. Earlier this year, Palmer made history by becoming the youngest talk show host ever on TV.

When questioned on whether she was nervous about the live audience, Palmer tells Vanity Fair “Thinking about that [Broadway audience] gives me energy… Seeing that many people in the audience, who you can’t recognize, that’s what excites you and gets you pumped.”

Keke can be seen wearing the glass slippers beginning September 9th. For more information, visit www.broadway.com
